The only ships you want to build for that are those who are AA beasts (Halland) or have excess skills to spare (Mysore). I frequently compare Iowa to NC in the review, Massa is a more secondary-focused and less main-guns focused but is otherwise similar to NC. I have a full review below, updated Captain Skills are pinned in the Comments. If you can focus on the gunnery over absorbing damage, Iowa can be good. Iowa is not, she just isn't as tanky as her peers and is more of a mobile fire support platform. Her main guns are also far less accurate than Iowa and can be harder to land thanks to that slower shell travel time.īUT Massa is extremely strong tier-for-tier being one of the top BBs at Tier 8. What you are probably finding is that because of her slower shells, Massa can get plunging fire more often OR possibly she overmatches more enemies she sees thanks to being a tier lower. Massa actually doesn't have as much pen and has slower shells. Massa is more forgiving to play thanks to being tankier tier-for-tier and a quicker cooldown on her heal. Ok there's a little bit going on here tier for tier and Massa is a poor comparison. Really regretted WASTING my EPOCH Tier 9 perm camo on the IOWA, should have used it on better Cruisers. Really hate the IOWA, even Massa pens better and main guns deal MORE damage.
